Program Notes:
Prerecorded video: June Hambrick presents a floral design workshop discussing a “mille fleurs” (thousand flowers) arrangement from the eyes of a judge. June will briefly describe the elements of the particular design and will explain what is going on in the mind of the flower judge when they approach a flower arrangement as she judges several flower arrangements explaining the strength and weaknesses in the arrangement based on the particular design.
Read more about floral styles and designs on GCV’s website.

Birth Date: 10/21
My parents met while both working for NASA in Washington DC. My father was sent all over the world to build satellite tracking stations which led us to reside in many places. I was born in Lima, Peru, lived in Quito, Ecuador, and Fairbanks, Alaska…and eventually settled in central Maryland where I met my wonderful husband while I was in the fourth grade.
Our young family of three boys moved out of Maryland to Cornwall St NE in Leesburg, VA in July of 1999 until June of 2005. We moved to Bethesda, MD for 10 years and happily returned to Cornwall St (now on the NW side) in 2015. While watching our family expand (daughters-in-law) and traveling for our real estate company, we enjoy visiting gardens big and small and also love hosting events in our own garden. Leesburg is a most special place with such special people-so grateful to call it home.
“Our gardener grabbed me this morning just giddy about finding this Earthstar Fungus in our front yard. Have you seen it before? It is so charming. In dry conditions the arms fold up around the center to protect the spore sack and in moist conditions the arms open-some call it Barometer Earthstar Fungus.” (shared by Suzi
